An investigation is underway in Hayneville after the body of a deceased individual was located on Oct. 24.

Hayneville Police Chief Kelvin Mitchell said his office received a tip which led to the discovery.

According to Mitchell, neither the identity of the victim nor the cause of death have been confirmed. The body has been sent to the State Forensic Lab for examination.

“All we know right now is that we found the body of an unidentified black male in a mobile home,” Mitchell said. “There does not appear to have been foul play involved, but we have transferred the body to Forensic Science in Montgomery.”
