Dismukes voted Lowndes County Athlete of the Week

Kamelia “Mia” Hunter is a star player for The Calhoun School Lady Tigers varsity basketball team. The Junior contributed to her team’s final score 53-27 win over Dallas County with 20 points and 12 rebounds.
Coaches say Tyrese McRae is “our six man” on Central High School varsity boy’s basketball team. He comes into the game to give that needed spark and in the Lion’s game against Wetumpka, he came into the game to deliver 10 points and hit a big go-ahead three pointer to put his team up with three seconds left in the game. He also completed three steals.

Kasen Dismukes was voted as Lowndes County’s Athlete of the Week. He is a Senior at Lowndes Academy, playing wide receiver and middle linebacker for the Rebels. In the Lowndes state championship game, he had 70 yards rushing and recorded nine tackles on defense. He won this week’s award by receiving 57%, 156 out of 275, of the votes.
Tyrese McRae from Central High School in Hayneville and Kamelia “Mia” Hunter from The Calhoun School were also nominated for their athleticism and setting the standard for excellence on and off the field. Congratulations to Dismukes and all athletes nominated this week.
