Children wanted at Head Start

Lowndes County Board of Education Head Start is currently recruiting eligible 3- and 4-year-olds for the 2024-2025 program year.The items needed for enrollment are the following: current immunization record (blue shot record), proof of income, proof of age and the child must be 3 years old by September 1. Additional documents needed to complete the enrollment process are: dental examination, complete health assessment (hearing, vision, lead, height, weight, TB Skin Test, pulse, blood pressure, hemoglobin and hematocrit) and a statement of medical diagnosis for asthma, food allergies, etc. If a child does not turn 3 years old until after September 1, an interview will be conducted and the child will be placed on a waitlist. Once the child turns 3, he/she will have an opportunity to be placed in a classroom if a vacancy exists. Call 334-548-2145 or visit www.lowndes-boeboeheadstart.org for more information.
