Auburn University released its dean’s list March 21, recognizing a student local to both Lowndes and Butler counties.

William Carter made Auburn’s dean’s list for the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering for the 2023 Fall semester. Carlton is a 2022 graduate of Fort Dale Academy and a native of Fort Deposit.

Students are named to Auburn’s dean’s list for demonstrating superior academic achievement accomplished by dedication, hard work and a commitment to excellence in their grades. The announcement released Thursday commended Carlton for his achievements in a rigorous program of study.

Carlton is an Auburn junior studying civil engineering. He is the son of Gray and Missy Carlton and grandson of Christine Phelps, all of Fort Deposit.

“Congratulations to Will and WAR Eagle!” Missy Carlton said.
