Hussey voted Lowndes County Athlete of the Week

Clayton Hussey is voted Lowndes County Athlete of the Week for Week 28 on April 16.
Charles Robinson is a senior at Central High School and plays baseball for the Lions. In his nomination of Robinson, baseball coach Kenny Rush described him as an outstanding student-athlete. “I nominated him because he was always known for his defense, so I decided to put him at leadoff on offense to improve his on-base percentage,” Rush said. “Now he is the perfect guy. He has a great eye, and in the last game he got on base three out of four at bats.”
Kentavius Loftin, also known as “30,” is a senior at The Calhoun School. He is a baseball player, leader and captain of the Tigers’ team who keeps everybody in order. In the last game against R.C. Hatch, Kentavius pitched an outstanding game, with eight strikeouts on defense, which ended the game in the fourth inning with the win. On the offensive side, he went three for three in batting. He stole six bases and scored three runs. Over the last five games, he has been outstanding overall.

Clayton Hussey has been voted Lowndes County Athlete of the Week for Week 28 on April 16. He is a senior at Lowndes Academy.
Hussey placed first in high jump and placed third in the triple jump events on Thursday at the 2024 Gulf Shores AISA Outdoor Track & Field State Championship. He won this week’s award by receiving 86%, 508 out of 592, of the votes.
Charles Robinson from Central High School in Hayneville and Kentavius Loften from The Calhoun School were also nominated for their athleticism and setting the standard for excellence on and off the court. Congratulations to Hussey and all the student-athletes for being nominated this week.
