On May 20-22, the Lowndes County Board of Education’s Head Start faculty and staff along with Superintendent Samita Jeter and school board members Travis Rogers, Rev. Robert Grant, and Brant McCray participated in an annual training retreat. This year’s theme was “Rounding Up the 2023-24 School Year”. During the training, attendees received valuable strategies from mental health consultant, Tonda West, owner of Kairos Counseling Center. The teachers also worked collaboratively to highlight many research-based math and literacy-based techniques that will be utilized the upcoming school year.
