Lowndesboro Parade
The Town of Lowndesboro will hold its annual parade and program July 4. Lineup begins at 7:30 a.m. at Lowndes Academy. The parade begins at 8:30 a.m. and will proceed down Broad Street. A patriotic program at Ruby Moore Park starts at 9 a.m.
Theatre Camp
Lowndes Middle School in Fort Deposit will host a Rodney Wilkerson and The Drama Tower of Power Theatre Summer Camp July 8 – 12 and July 15 – 19 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The camp is for ages 12 – 18. The performance is scheduled for July 18 at 1 p.m.
Heirs Property
The Alabama Heirs Property Alliance will host an Heirs Property Watch Party to facilitate family tree and family conversations on Tuesday, July 9, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. The event will be held at the Snow Hill Christian Church located at 126 Snow Hill Drive in Mt. Willing.
Financial Management
The Alabama Cooperative Extension is hosting a Wise Money financial management workshop Thursday, July 11, at 11 a.m. The free event will be held at the Good Sheperd Community Center located at 1258 Main Street in Mosses featuring instructor Cynthia White, regional Extension Agent.
Mom Classes

Pre-K Program
First Years Child Development Center, First Class Pre-K offers a free 4-year-old program from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for working parents and 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for non-working parents. Classes start in August. Space is limited. Call Katina Surles at (334) 281-8627 for more information.
LCUWP Applications
The Lowndes County Unincorporated Wastewater Project is accepting applications for septic system installation or repair at its office located at 507 W. Tuskeena Street in Hayneville. Call (334) 548-2006 or stop by Monday, Wednesday, or Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for an application.
Head Start
The Lowndes County BOE has opened Head Start registration for children ages 3 and 4 for the 2024-2025 program year. Current immunization records, proof of income, and proof of age are required to register. Call (334) 548-2145 or visit www.lowndesboeheadstart.org for information.
