A Hayneville resident was recently named to the honors list at Lawson State Community College.
Johnae McGhee was among the 133 students named to the college’s spring president’s list. She works as the Federal Programs Secretary for Lowndes County Public Schools and is pursuing higher education online at Lawson State while working full time to serve Lowndes County school.
McGhee earned the distinction while studying online through the college’s Birmingham campus in courses bringing her one step closer to gaining her bachelor’s degree. Students named to the school’s president’s list maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 with a minimum course load of 12 semester hours.
