The Lowndes Academy Pee Wee Rebels looked strong defensively in their second game of the season against Macon East Academy Tuesday evening. After a scoreless first quarter, Zeke Harrell, No. 7, scored on a quarterback keeper in the second quarter to give the Rebels the first points of the game.
By halftime the Rebels led 14-0 capitalizing off of a Knights fumble. Wide receiver Kyle “Brother” Harrell caught a pass late in the third quarter closing the door on the Knights and securing a 22-0 victory for the Rebels.
Head coach Kyle Harrell praised his players after the win.
“Macon East came out ready to play tonight,” he said. “We started off a little slow on offense but our defense came out strong and stuffed them. We were able to make a few adjustments and get in the endzone. I am really proud of how our boys played tonight.”
The Pee Wee and JV Rebel squads will travel to play Edgewood on Monday Sept. 9.
