Central Football
Central High School will host Bayshore Christian Friday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m.
Calhoun Football
The Calhoun School Tigers are on the road Oct. 11 to face Barbour County at 7 p.m.
Rebel Football
The Lowndes Academy Rebels go on the road Oct. 11 to meet Abbeville.
Pioneer Meeting
Pioneer Electric Cooperative will host its annual member’s meeting on Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Butler County Fairgrounds. Gates open at 9 a.m. Remember to bring your photo ID.
County Commission
The Lowndes County Commission will meet Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. at the Charles Smith Annex Building, inside the Lowndes County Commission Chambers.
Community Workshop

Mom Classes

Pre-K Program
First Years Child Development Center, First Class Pre-K offers a free 4-year-old program from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for working parents and 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for non-working parents. Classes start in August. Space is limited. Call Katina Surles at (334) 281-8627 for more information.
LCUWP Applications
The Lowndes County Unincorporated Wastewater Project is accepting applications for septic system installation or repair at its office located at 507 W. Tuskeena Street in Hayneville. Call (334) 548-2006 or stop by Monday, Wednesday, or Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for an application.
Head Start
The Lowndes County BOE has opened Head Start registration for children ages 3 and 4 for the 2024-2025 program year. Current immunization records, proof of income, and proof of age are required to register. Call (334) 548-2145 or visit www.lowndesboeheadstart.org for information.
Dad’s Donuts
The community is invited to Lowndes County Middle School for Donuts with Dads on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 9 a.m. Donuts and refreshments will be provided. For more information, contact Ms. Simmons at (334) 227-4206.

Lowndes Academy travels to Luverne on Oct. 18 to challenge Crenshaw Christian Academy.
Homecoming Parade
The Calhoun School will host a homecoming parade Oct. 18 starting at 1 p.m. Line up begins at Fort Deposit Elementary School at noon. A pep rally will follow the parade. Submit a donation by Oct. 14 to enter. Contact Mrs. K.L. Davis at (334) 227-4515 for more information.
Field Day
The Alabama Cooperative Extension System Animal Science and Forages team will host an informative beef and forage field day Oct. 18 at the Blackbelt Research and Extension Center located at 60 County Road 944 in Marion Junction. Contact Josh Elmore at (334) 850-7859 for more information.
Trick or Treat
The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office will host Trunk or Treat featuring candy, games and food Oct. 24 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Lowndes County Detention Facility at 653 Alabama Highway 21 South in Hayneville.

The Calhoun School will host the Highland Home Flying Squadron Oct. 24 at 7 p.m.
Rebel Football
Lowndes Academy travels to face Valiant Cross on Oct. 25.
Cornwallis Ghost
Ghost of Cornwallis, presented by Demp Bell, will be held at Cornwallis 1828, 17204 State Highway 21 in Braggs on Oct. 25 – 31. Tickets for $15 are available on the event’s Facebook event link.

Fall Festival
Hayneville Baptist Church will host its Fall Festival Thursday, Oct. 31 from 6 – 8 p.m. Inflatables, face painting, a cake walk, games, trunk or treat, hotdogs and more will be available. Free admission. No scary costumes please.
45 Classic
The Central High School Lions will host The Calhoun School Tigers for the 45 Classic Nov. 1 with kickoff at 7 p.m.
Rebel Football
Lowndes Academy goes on the road Nov. 1 to face Morgan Academy.
