Fort Deposit’s annual Christmas Parade was a bright and shining display of merriment Saturday. Lining up at Lowndes Middle School Saturday morning, participants proceeded through Fort Deposit before stopping at the armory for the health fair.
Chilly temperatures did not deter community members, who bundled up to watch the floats, ATV, local law enforcement and community members in the parade.
The Calhoun School’s Marching Tigers performed for parade-goers and Fort Deposit Elementary’s Queen Taylor Davison represented her school alongside her court on a festive balloon-adorned float.
As usual, Fort Deposit’s Volunteer Fire Department was there, and Santa made his appearance for local children atop the department’s No. 2 fire engine.
Door prizes were given away while the community enjoyed the health fair right after the parade.
