Parts of central and south Alabama received up to five inches of snow accumulation Tuesday. But in the 4-5, it was more like a dusting of snow with some residents enjoying just a few flurries while others measured up to two inches on the ground. Ice on roads and bridges meant the Alabama Department of Transportation advised motorists to avoid travel if possible. Business and school closures Tuesday and Wednesday afforded local residents the opportunity to play in the snow.
