The town of Lowndesboro will take bids for the Tallawassee/River Road Water Extension project on Friday, May 18.

At Tuesday’s regular Lowndesboro Town Council meeting it was announced that the bids for the water extension project will be taken on May 18 at 10 a.m. at Town Hall.

It was also announced that the Kentucky Derby Party held Saturday, May 5, was a success with the town breaking even on the event.

And it was announced that the council will try to resolve the problem of speeding throughout the town and will be in contact with the State Troopers.

There was also discussion of sending letters to trucking companies regarding the speeding.
