Municipal elections will be held in Lowndes County on Tuesday, Aug. 28, and the deadline to qualify is Tuesday, July 17.

Municipal elections will be held in Benton, Fort Deposit, Gordonville, Hayneville, Lowndesboro, Mosses and White Hall.

As of press time Wednesday, July 11 the following candidates had qualified:

In Lowndesboro, incumbents Mayor Rick Pate, Council members Caswell McCurdy, James Adams, Dennis Blair, Jerry Ingram and David Spooner;

Mosses, none; Hayneville, Connie Tyson Johnson for mayor; and Fort Deposit, no one.

Information for Benton, Gordonville and White Hall was unavailable or could not be confirmed at press time.
